Halo 4 Review

REVIEW

Halo is a game series that has become iconic to gaming over the past 10 and a bit years the halo series has transcended after coming from out of no where and grabbing gamers all over the world it has waged war with other games such as Sony's Killzone series which was released to combat it in the early 2000's but halo has always pulled ahead as its fan base grows and grows the next combatant would be Call Of Duty but again halo pulled ahead and stood its ground and kept ahead then last year war was raged between the 3 largest combatants since the early days of the FPS genre with Quake , Doom and Duke Nukem when Call Of Duty , Halo and Battlefield 3 made the FPS genre a harsh battlefield it was a close battle and still a winner is undecided this year with the launch of Halo 4 with its new publisher 343 studios it was incredibly uncertain what would happen with the series but as i explain in this review it becomes very apparent just how  this new studio has made halo better than what it was before

Story:

Halo 4's story begins exactly 4 years and 10 days after the ending of Halo 3 although if you werent lucky enough to have finished halo 3 on the legendary setting this will not be apprent to you as you wake up in the UNFC ship the Forward Unto Dawn this is where the story of  Halo 4 begins when the good ol Master Chef returns to battle for his world to save it from imminent destruction from the promethian threat as the story unfolds you will descover many twists and turns making for an extreamly engaging experience involving Cortana your trusty female AI that will point out waypoints also taking you on a journey with the Master Chef AKA John as he battles his way through hords of enemy's while trying to make a plan to defeat the promethian master all of this takes place on there forerunner planet which was made apperent in the past few halo games in the series

Gameplay:

The gameplay in halo 4 is fast paced gripping and action packet to the point of bursting there are multiple weapons of which to use in this game including old favorites such as the Battle Rifle the DMR and the Assault Rifle as well as some covenant weapons such as the Needler the Pulse Rocket and the Energy pistol which is one of the favorite among the halo online community for its ability to stun a vehicle or to take down an opponents shield in one shot there are brand new weapons for the player to come to terms with on all sides with the Humans there is the Saw an incredibly powerful assault weapon used to rip your opponents health down in no time with the Covenant there is the Storm Rifle which is the first Alien assault weapon in the halo series other than the standard turrets and the promethian weapons you will become very apparent with these from the get go as well as the story mode there is a brand new mode which can be played ether on your own or with up to 3 friends called Spartan Ops which is updated with new missions Weekly so far there are 3 and a new one is incoming soon these modes require tactical advantages and some extra know how to complete as there is many secrets and also some interesting tweaks which allows for a new feel to the multiplayer sector of the game which while it wasnt exactly nessesary it was still welcomed as a fine new piece of gameplay which will keep players guessing and looking for that Red Vs Blue Easter egg to get that achievement that you will want to get there are many different things that you can get through and if multiplayer is your fancy the halo 4 multiplayer is booming with awesome modes and excellent new multiplayer maps that will keep you all playing and gathering up your old teams and getting back into the online fight to the top of the leader boards

Presentation:

The Visuals in Halo 4 are nothing short of fantastic from the early moments with the fantastically realistic CGI cut scenes there are a few little hick ups here and there that are more than forgivable considering the shear magnitude of the quality of the visuals there are many things that will make you say wow the amound of vehicles giant ships moving over head aswell as the chaos on the ground without any lagging issues this all amounts to an absolutely fantastic looking game with a million crisp clean pixels making it easy on the eyes and a pleasure to play

Multiplayer:

if you have been looking for that great online multiplayer with a great split screen to boot then look no further this game has it all multiple customization options for the player to use to ether make there own maps or modes to keep you and your friends guessing between the standard Slayer and Capture the Flag aswell as team slayers and new modes such as flood mode which allows one player to start as the dreaded flood infestation that people will remember from the original games there are a multitude of different game modes for the player to choose from aswell as a new and improved leveling system which allows the gamer to rank up with there standard experience or in the brand new spartan ops mode which will encourage the player to move up in rank to unlock the newer armor and ability's and to customize there load outs for future multiplayer experiences this is probably the best halo multiplayer since halo 2 and most likely the finest online multiplayer shooter this year

Verdict:

Halo 4 will stand alone as one of the best games of this generation with its incredible visuals and amazing story multiplayer it really has the whole package rapped up nicely with a great story great multiplayer and endless amounts of creation options this game is one of the best i have played in years there are some issues here and there that are forgivable considering this is 343 studios first bash at the series and to be completely honest they have built a clear cut way into fans hearts with this and i think we can all agree we trust them with the series from now on
